The Grand Wedding in Chaoyang Pavilion of Urumqi People's Park in 1930s

In the People's Park in the center of Urumqi, there is an antique Chinese pavilion Chaoyang Pavilion. People who are relaxing here today will not think that a grand wedding was held here in the 1930s, and it is even harder to imagine that this wedding witnessed an unforgettable revolutionary love spanning more than 70 years.

On July 28th, 1936, Yu Xiusong, one of the founders of the early organizations in the Communist Party of China (CPC), and his beloved girl, Shengshi Tong, entered the marriage hall. At the wedding ceremony, all the military and political officials of Dihua (now Urumqi) were present, and the Soviet News Film Studio made a special trip to shoot a documentary. Stalin sent a box of clothes to congratulate him through the Soviet Consul General in Dihua.

The relationship between the two began with the relationship between teachers and students. In 1935, Yu Xiusong was sent to Xinjiang by the Communist International to help Sheng Shicai carry out his work. Because of Yu Xiusong's talent, Sheng Shicai hired him as a tutor for his second sister and daughter. Sheng Shicai's second sister is a prosperous time. After lectures, Yu Xiusong often tells her the story of taking part in the revolution for more than 10 years and going to study in the Soviet Union.

Yu Xiusong's revolutionary enthusiasm and personality charm deeply touched the girl who pursued progress. Once, Sheng Shitong recalled tears when he saw how Japanese soldiers oppressed and killed China people in the occupied areas of Shenyang. "With the world, that's very kind of your name, prosperous times datong! This is our communist ideal, and it is also a national ambition that has been passed down since ancient times. " Yu Xiusong said. Their hearts are closer and their revolutionary beliefs are more firm.

After marriage, the two spent more than a year in a sweet life. "Because we have the same ideal, life is full and happy." Prosperity is the same as memory. Unexpectedly, Sheng Shicai was treacherous. In December 1937, Yu Xiusong was framed and imprisoned. Half a year later, he was taken to the Soviet Union, and Shengshi Tong saw her husband off at the airport. "Remember, sister, to be a brave man for the revolution, to stand up, not afraid of violence, and take the revolutionary road of your own choice." Where will you go, his words have been firmly remembered by her. Since then, there has been no news of Yu Xiusong. Shengshi Tong broke off the brother-sister relationship with Sheng Shicai, and moved out of the supervision office with his mother An Jingfeng, and changed his mother's surname to An Zhijie.

After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, An Zhijie returned to Yu Xiusong's hometown, Zhuji, Zhejiang. After the founding of New China, An Zhijie learned that Yu Xiusong was no longer alive. She turned her full love into a wish to clear her innocence and comfort his spirit. In 1961, Yu Xiusong was regarded as a revolutionary martyr by the Organization Department of Shanghai Municipal Committee. In 1962, President Mao Zedong issued the Glorious Commemorative Certificate for the Families of Workers who died in the Revolution.

An Zhijie has been taking care of Yu Xiusong's father. After settling in Shanghai, she inherited Yu Xiusong's long-cherished wish to run an education and set up a tutorial school. In 1982, An Zhijie was elected as a member of Shanghai CPPCC. In 2006, 91-year-old An Zhijie died peacefully. She left a photo taken ten years after Yu Xiusong left. In the photo, she wore silk flowers and his favorite clothes, and there was neat handwriting on the back. "Do you still know her? She has been waiting for you for ten years!" Yu Xiusong once told his students that revolution, study and establishing a revolutionary family are three major events in life. He got his wish, and his beloved wife comforted him all her life, and his year became her life.
