Plant the seeds of the stars and open the flowers of the stars.

"How can humans, like prophets, know the weather tomorrow or even a week later today?" As a child, Li Hui often thought so when watching the weather forecast, and a seed yearning for science was also rooted in her heart. After growing up, Li Hui was admitted to the School of Earth and Space Sciences of China University of Science and Technology. After learning about the space weather phenomenon in a wider space between the sun and the earth, her inner dream of scientific research broke ground. Today, Li Hui has realized her childhood dream of scientific exploration, engaged in research on space physics and space weather, and devoted herself to exploring the propagation and evolution of interplanetary disturbances and their impact on the earth's space environment, and the relationship between solar activities and global weather and climate change.

For twelve years, Li Hui, director of the Chinese Society of Space Science and deputy director of the Key Laboratory of Solar Activity and Space Weather of the National Space Science Center of China Academy of Sciences, has been immersed in the data of various space weather phenomena such as solar coronal mass ejection, shock wave, magnetic storm and aurora activity every day, because "correct data analysis is the only way to dig out the scientific truth, and once mistakes are made, they will be far from the truth".

In the Chinese Society of Space Science, there are still many young people who are rooted in the front line of scientific research like Li Hui and dream of the stars and the sea. Recently, the reporter from China Youth Daily and China Youth Network participated in the gathering activities organized by the Social Organization Administration of the Ministry of Civil Affairs and entered the Chinese Society of Space Science. Wu Ji, a foreign academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, an academician of the International Academy of Astronautics, and chairman of the China Space Science Society, told the reporter of Zhongqingbao. com that the Society is a national, academic and non-profit social organization that is engaged in space science and technology research in China. At present, there are more than 1,000 scientific and technological talents under the age of 40, and many young people have become the main force of scientific and technological innovation, promoted to deputy director of key laboratories and chief engineer of satellite systems.

"Doing state affairs and shouldering state responsibility." After 80, Li Hui said in an interview with the reporter of China Youth Daily and China Youth Network.

"For a long time, due to the lack of independent observation data, China scientists can only use foreign second-hand data when doing space weather research. Now, we have broken this embarrassing situation. "

Obtaining the research data of first-hand observation space is inseparable from the hard work of Li Hui and his colleagues. They developed a series of forecasting and index products such as geomagnetic disturbance index in China, coordinated and promoted the monitoring and research of space weather in China, and promoted the international scientific and technological cooperation of major space weather.

Today, Li Hui is participating in the demonstration of China's independent marginal exploration project of the solar system. He hopes that the project can be implemented smoothly and lead China's deep space exploration from the sun to the interstellar space. "If there is an opportunity to contribute to the building of human knowledge, even if it is just a grain of sand, it is my lifelong wish." Li Hui said.

Chen Xue, an associate professor of Guilin University of Electronic Technology, won the title of "the most beautiful scientific and technological worker in China in 2023" this year. He has been engaged in the basic and applied research of microgravity fluid physics and phase change heat transfer for many years. Like Li Hui, Chen Xue is also the winner of the "Young Talents Support Project" implemented by China Association for Science and Technology.

"Since the China Association for Science and Technology established the' Young Talents Support Project' in 2015, the Society has recommended 33 outstanding young talents in this field to receive project support for 8 consecutive sessions." Sun Lilin, Secretary-General of the Chinese Society of Space Sciences, introduced.

"The most difficult thing to do scientific research is to be trapped in a mystery for a long time when doing experiments." Eight years ago, Chen Xue's experience in designing the "TZ-1" load experiment was unforgettable. It was the first time that she was independently responsible for the project design. At that time, Chen Xue was still studying in the Institute of Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. When he took the lead for the first time, he encountered a thorny problem: the load weight of the experimental platform of "TZ-1" two-phase system needed to be less than 50 kg, but due to many experimental equipment, the weight could not reach the standard. During that time, Chen Xue spent all day in the laboratory, burying his head in searching for information and designing, repeatedly and painstakingly studying. After designing dozens of lightweight structures and repeated tests, the problem was solved.

The success of this project laid the foundation for Chen Xue's scientific research career. During her six years in the Institute of Mechanics of Chinese Academy of Sciences, she participated in the development of several space experimental loads in the National Microgravity Laboratory with her tutor, and explored the interface effect of space phase change fluid and the mechanism of heat and mass transfer, laying a theoretical foundation for the thermal control technology of manned spaceflight project in China.

During her PhD in 2017, with the support of international exchange program, Chen Xue went to M2P2 laboratory in France to carry out research. Upon graduation, faced with the olive branch offered by top foreign institutions, Chen Xue resolutely refused to decide to return to his hometown of Guangxi to become a teacher at Guilin University of Electronic Technology, and set up a laboratory for fluid and solid mechanics with more than 10 overseas returnees. In recent years, the team has achieved a number of original research results, and won more than 20 national natural science foundation projects and Guangxi natural science foundation projects.

"The technology you developed sounds very high, but the company may not understand what you are talking about." Chen Xue made a lot of efforts in promoting the transformation of scientific and technological achievements. At first, after listening to Chen Xue's research introduction, the two sides did not reach a consensus. In this regard, Chen Xue has repeatedly conducted in-depth research on enterprise production, tried to communicate and cooperate with enterprises in plain language, and combined the technological demands of enterprises with the scientific and technological reserves of colleges and universities to build a win-win platform for cooperation and exchange.

In recent years, Chen Xue organized a number of experts and scholars to nearly 100 enterprises to carry out innovative resources sinking and landing services such as technology demand docking and scientific and technological achievements transformation. At the same time, he actively participated in the project of China Association for Science and Technology's "Science and Technology Innovation China" Guangxi Green Building Materials Science and Technology Service Mission undertaken by China Space Science Society, led the team to go deep into nearly 100 enterprises such as Nanning, Liuzhou and Wuzhou to understand the technical pain points of green building materials industry, helped enterprises identify more than 50 "pain points and needs", and used space technology to solve more than 30 "intractable diseases", making positive contributions to the high-quality development of local economy.

Nowadays, like Li Hui and Chen Xue, there are many young people who are curious about the universe and "chasing the stars". They are "writing their papers on the land of the motherland" step by step, and their dreams of scientific research are blossoming.
